Step 1: Open Trip.com and Enter Flight Details

Start by visiting www.trip.com.

When you open Trip.com, the first thing you will notice is the Flights search box at the center of the homepage.

On this screen, you will see the tabs for Flights, Hotels, Trains. The fields to enter are departure city, destination city, travel date and number of passengers

Check very well you will see A bold Search button. This is where every booking begins.

On this screen, you will see on the homepage “Flights”. If you like you can sign up first. Then Click Flights

1. Enter the route details: From: Lagos (LOS) To: Manila (MNL)
2. For the Trip type: Choose One-way or Round-trip. Then check the calendar and choose the departure date
3. The Departure date is your travel date. Therefore, choose your travel date.
   • Passengers: Adult (1)

Click Search Flights.

We have to know that Learning how to search routes properly helps you find better prices and avoid unnecessary stopovers. This is a key skill when booking for clients.

Step 2: Flight Results Page – Comparing Routes and Prices

Because there are no direct flights from Lagos to Manila, Trip.com will show options with one or two stopovers. When comparing flights, always check the total travel duration, the number of stops, if there is Layover time, also the Airline reputation, Baggage allowance, Ticket flexibility. Then choose the option that balances cost, comfort, and timing, then click Select.

So,After clicking Search, Trip.com will show a list of available flights. On this page, you will see: different airlines, prices displayed clearly, travel duration, number of stopovers, layover locations

For long routes like Lagos to Manila, you will usually see one or two stops.
This is where smart comparison saves money. So, choose the selected flight you want and tap on it. Then confirm.

Step 3: Enter Passenger Details (Example: Okoro Emeka)

Once you click on a flight, Trip.com opens a detailed view showing: Full itinerary, Layover duration, Baggage allowance, Ticket rules (refunds or changes). This is where professionals slow down and review everything carefully before proceeding. Now enter passenger information exactly as it appears on the passport.

Example:

• Title: Mr.
• First Name: Emeka
• Last Name: Okoro
• Gender: Male
• Date of Birth: As per passport
• Nationality: Nigerian
• Passport Number: Correct passport number
• Passport Expiry Date: Must be valid for at least 6 months

⚠️ Accuracy is critical. One spelling error can cause airport delays or denied boarding.

Step 4: Add Contact Information

Provide: like we said before, provide the accurate information and A valid email address (this is where the e-ticket will be sent). I suggest you put your own email and your reachable phone number as the agent. If booking for a client just for the sake of non business, always use their email or forward the ticket immediately after confirmation.

Step 5: Optional Add-ons (Choose Wisely).

Trip.com may offer optional services such as: Travel insurance, Extra baggage and Seat selection

These options can be skipped if not needed, especially when booking on a budget or for clients. These are optional. As a booking professional, only add what the traveler truly needs.

Step 6: Review All Booking Details

Before payment, review the Passenger name: Okoro Emeka, Route: Lagos → Manila, Travel date, Baggage allowance and Total price Never rush this step. Just careful review protects both you and your client.

Step 7: Make Payment and Confirm Booking

Now Complete payment using: Debit card, Credit card or Available local payment options

Once payment is successful, the Booking confirmation will appear on the screen, then the E-ticket will be sent to your email. This means that the flight is officially booked.

The final stage shows the Total amount, Payment options (card and local methods), Booking summary

Then after successful payment, a confirmation page appears. The e-ticket will be sent to your email as we said earlier. This confirms the flight booking is complete.
