How to Sell Ebooks Online to Any Country of Your Choice

Selling ebooks online in any country is one of the simplest ways to make money online. This guide shows you how to sell ebooks online, no matter where you are. Just follow it step by step. They are:

A. How to sell your book on Payhip.

Payhip is great for international sales because it handles payments and provides delivery for you. Below are Step-by-step instructions for using Payhip.

1. Sign up: It is good that I will guide you step by step. Go to www.payhip.com. To get started, sign up first. Create a free account with your email and password. Then verify your email.
2. Set up your store: After creating an account, the next thing is to click on your dashboard. Once you are in your dashboard, go to Account, then Settings, and click Payment Details. Connect your PayPal or Stripe account here so you can get paid instantly.
3. Create a product (your ebook): In the Dashboard, go to Products and click Add Product. Choose Digital product/document, then enter title and description. Upload your ebook file (PDF, EPUB, etc.), add a cover image, set price, currency, and optional features (coupon, pay-what-you-want, preview).
4. Customize checkout & delivery. In your product settings, you can set up automatic delivery so that the buyer gets the file right after payment. You can also add a “Thank you” message, license/terms, and email receipt content. Optional: You can set VAT/tax settings or limits by country if needed.
5. Copy your checkout link: After that, open the product in Products, go to  Share / Embed or the Pricing tab, and you will see your Checkout URL / Product URL. Copy that link. This is what you will share with customers. (Payhip has direct checkout links for each product.)
6. Test a purchase (MANDATORY): It is good to do a test purchase. For example, you can buy your own ebook using a separate email to confirm that the files are delivered correctly and payments land in your PayPal/Stripe account.
7. Embed a Buy button or full store: This is entirely optional. You can also embed the buy button on your website or add your Payhip store link to your bio, WhatsApp, and social media profiles.
8. Deliver & support: Finally, you have to monitor orders in the dashboard, provide customer support, and issue refunds if needed (Payhip supports refunds). You can also promote the product using the link you copied.

B. How to sell with Paystack

Paystack works well if most of your customers are in Africa, but it also accepts payments globally. Also, Paystack offers Payment Pages/Payment Links & a developer API. Take these steps below:

1. Sign up: Go to paystack.com and sign up. Register with a business name, email, password, and confirm.
2. Verify your account: Next, complete the KYC/business verification and add your bank details in your dashboard. You need this to go live and accept real payments.
3. Create a Payment Page: In the Paystack dashboard, go to Payment Pages and click Create New Page. Choose One-time Payment or Product Payment. Add a title like “Buy My Ebook,” write a short description, set your price, and upload a logo. Paystack will generate a payment link.
In addition, you can also use Paystack’s Initialize Transaction API to create a transaction programmatically and get a checkout URL, which you give the buyer.
4. Share and test:  Then, copy your Payment Page link and share it on your website, email, or socials. Do a small test payment to confirm that orders show in your dashboard and payouts reach your bank.

C. How to Create and Copy Payment Links (Payhip, PayPal, Paystack)

1. For Payhip. We can use it for a direct product through a checkout link.
Go to the Dashboard, then Products, then click your Product. Look for Share / Embed or the Pricing tab and copy the Checkout URL / Product URL.
2.  For PayPal (we need the payment link or button).
First, log in to your PayPal Business account, go to Tools, then click PayPal Buttons or Payment Links. Click Create a Buy Now or Pay Now button, enter the product name, price, and currency. PayPal will give you a shareable link and HTML code for your website.
3. Paystack (Payment Page / Payment Link):
For Paystack, go to Dashboard, click Payment Pages, create your page, and save. Paystack will give you a link you can copy right away.

D. How to use these links in Facebook ads to sell internationally

You have two options:

Option 1: Direct-to-checkout: The ad sends people straight to your Payhip, Paystack, or PayPal checkout link. It is fast and works well for mobile buyers.
Option 2: Landing page first, then go to checkout: Here, the Ad will send traffic to your own landing page. People land on your landing page first, then click through to checkout.  This gives more control. It is better for tracking, email collection, and retargeting. I recommend this for bigger campaigns.

How To Set Up The Facebook Ads

Follow these steps to create Facebook ads.
1. Create A Business Manager & Ad Account. First, if you don’t already have one, go to business.facebook.com, create a Business Manager, add your Ad Account, and add a payment method.
2. Install tracking (This is strongly recommended): Add the Meta Pixel to your landing page if you have one. If you send people directly to Payhip or Paystack, tracking will be limited. However, a landing page with a Pixel gives you better data. Pixel lets you optimize for purchases and retarget visitors.
3. Create Your Campaign: Go to Ads Manager and click Create. Choose your objective. Use Conversions or Sales if you have a Pixel & a landing page. Use Traffic if you are sending people straight to a checkout link, and you want visits.
4. Set your Audience and Placements:  In the Ads set, go to Location and type the audience, that is, the country or countries you want to target. You can target any country available in Ads Manager. Then set age, languages, and interests as needed.
Placement: Automatic placements are always recommended for beginners (Facebook/Instagram). Or use manual if you want feed only.
Budget & Schedule: Next, choose a daily or lifetime budget, and set the start and end dates.
5. Build your ad:  Then create the ad. You can use an image, carousel, or video. Write a clear headline, primary text, and a call-to-action (e.g., Buy Now or Download).
Next, you paste your Payhip, Paystack, or PayPal checkout link (if you are using Option A). If using a landing page, paste the website URL instead (that is Option B).
Finally, add tracking. Attach a Pixel event (Purchase) or use UTM parameters to track traffic in Google Analytics.
6. UTM & URL parameters: You have to add UTM tags to your link so that you know which ad made sales. For example: https://your-payhip-link.com/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=ebook_launch_ad1.This makes campaign tracking in GA or analytics simple.
7. Conversion & attribution. If you send your users directly to Payhip or Paystack, conversion tracking in Ads Manager will be limited without a Pixel/Conversions API on your domain. Therefore, the best practice is to use a small landing page (on your domain) with a Pixel. Then send visitors from the landing page to the Payhip/Paystack checkout. This lets Ads Manager optimize for conversions.
8. Testing & scaling. To test, you can start with a small budget to test creatives and audiences.  For example, test three headlines and two images. Second, check your Cost per Purchase, keep what works, and scale budgets for winning ads. You can later create lookalike audiences from your buyers.
9. Compliance & ad policy. Always ensure that your ads follow Meta advertising policies (no misleading claims, no copyright infringement on images, clear price/offer). If you target multiple countries, verify local restrictions on digital sales (tax, VAT) where relevant.

Conclusion

For Troubleshooting. Our best practice is to use a landing page with a Pixel + checkout link. This combines good UX, tracking, email capture, and retargeting. This is especially important when selling ebooks online to any Country.
Tax & currency:
Also, make sure your Payhip/Paystack currency and payout country settings are correct; Payhip pays via PayPal/Stripe instantly. Since most buyers will be on mobile; test the checkout flow on a phone.
Try 3 headlines and 2 images or videos; let Ads Manager optimize. Buffer’s guide and Meta’s help are good step-by-step references for Ads Manager workflows.
